A NEW MISSION
FOR A NEW DAY

Our mission and yours, should you choose to accept it, is to provide rehabilitative experiences through golf, bowling and other activities for wounded veterans and their families. Our efforts aim to improve the quality of life for these American heroes by providing opportunities for healing of the mind, body and soul through athletics, mentorship and most importantly, friendship.

Please join us in supporting a cause that works tirelessly to show these heroes that they are valued, appreciated and simply not forgotten.

ABOUT

Since 2013, Heroes in the Rough, a non-profit organization, has served disabled veterans in the Las Vegas valley. We provide regular activities like golf, bowling, and various outings, offering veterans support, connection, and the opportunity to celebrate their service. Through athletics, mentorship, and friendship, we strive to improve their quality of life. Our organization is entirely volunteer-run, ensuring every dollar directly supports our Heroes. All activities, clothing, and equipment are provided at no cost to our veterans and their families.

OUR CHALLENGE

Over 138,000 military veterans live in the Las Vegas area, making up 9% of the state’s population. Many face daily physical and mental challenges, compounded by limited financial resources and fixed incomes. This leads to feelings of loneliness and depression, contributing to the tragic statistic that 22 veterans die by suicide every day in the U.S.

OUR IMPACT

There are currently 50+ disabled veterans enrolled in Heroes in the Rough. As we continue to grow with the support of our partners, PGA Hope, the Veteran’s Administration and community outreach, we anticipate that we’ll be able to continue to add more veterans to our program as we continue to grow.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

At Heroes in the Rough, we believe that every veteran deserves a community where they can feel supported and valued. That’s why we offer regular programs like golf, bowling, and social outings designed to bring veterans together. Whether it’s through friendly competition or simply sharing stories, these activities provide a space for connection, encouragement, and a chance to honor the journey you've been on. We're here to help you thrive—physically, mentally, and emotionally—by building friendships, fostering mentorship, and creating moments that make a real difference in your life.

OUR PROGRAMS BENEFITS

Our program is packed with opportunities tailored just for disabled veterans. We focus on supporting those with a VA-documented disability of 50% or greater, offering everything from Golf Clinics and Personal Golf Lessons with PGA professionals to providing golf attire, equipment, and tournament entries—all at no cost to you. Whether it’s a round of golf or a Hero Outing, we’re here to make sure you can enjoy these experiences without worrying about the cost. Every dollar we receive from our sponsors goes directly into the program—no one takes a salary—because our commitment is to you.
